reverse went out without any warning, all other gears work perfectly fine. i can feel it shift into reverse but no movement at all.

2004 grand cherokee, automatice, all forward gears work fine, no reverse.

Check your transmission fluid level. Make sure its full and red like cherry kool-aid. If its low fill to the proper level. If its brown/black and smells burnt you might get lucky and save the transmission with a transmission flush.

transmission fluid was ok and red,didnt smell burnt. it was never sluggish or acted up at all...just all of a sudden wouldnt move. i can feel it shift but no movement..

Ok that's good. Could be the module on the side of the trans but I would have it looked at by a transmission specialist.

Hey I just had my radiator replace in my 2000 jeep laredo Cherokee but where the pipes are that is connected to the radiator and the transmission wasn't tighting,, it was leaking so in had to put fluids Avery day so out of no where my reverse stop working but I can drive fine the reverse just sloped working in there fluids in there anybody can help me out with this one

I had the same issue. My reverse suddenly stopped working but it could still go into drive. I took it in and apparently the reverse gear was shot which completely killed my transmission... im having to replace the transmission all together.

I have the same issue.. Funny thing.. Twice before it did this i put it in Park. It started rolling forward in park. The 2nd time was in a bank teller line. I went to backup no reverse.. Kinda moves a little if on level serface

i ruined my transmission driving home from work, i down shifted from 2nd to drive then forgot i already di that & shifted into reverse. do i need a new transmission?

my reverse is going out this is the second time now but i can still put it in drive and drives fine what do i do its a 2001 laredo cherokee but within 5 hours llater it works again
