I have a 2004 Grand Cherokee 4.0L automatic transmission 4X4, one size bigger stock tires rated for 50psi ( I put in 55). I drive it cruise control set 60 m/hr or 95 k/hr. Used to average 24mpg. Then I swelled the front plastic air intake with heat and pressed onto wood end roughly 3X5.to fit the opening fully at the side by the radiator. Average went to 28mpg. Then on the vacuum line that controls heat and ac air flows, I put a "T" and an extra rubber hose with an air filter so it allows a little extra air that the computer doesn't know about. Average is now 34mpg. Imperial gallons. This is always same 325 mile trip with 200-300 lbs. cargo, 2 adults and a dog. With tail winds it gets over 36mpg. Fill ups are right up the filler neck and calculated. Readout up overhead shows over 25 US mpg. But that is just what the computer can show.

If I'm going to get the same mileage from the 6 cylinder as opposed to 8 cylinder wouldn't be better off just getting the 8 cylinder and have more power ?

I get 12 to 13 mpg regular driving. 4x4 all wheel drive sucks put 5 bucks in 23 miles later out of h Gas gas cost 2.49 gal so 2 gal took me 23miles

Most of them have a gas leake at the tank only when thier running might just be leaking all your gas away
