Jeep won't start/flashing engine light

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Our jeep won't start.  Checked the starter and that
is fine, hooked a computer up and says no codes
and when trying to start it the engine light is
flashing. No clue what's wrong

Without codes it is a guessing game. Did you turn the key on when reading the codes? If you did everything correctly it may be a bad ECU. What happens when you try to start it?

It doesn't do anything. We turned the key and all we get on is the lights on the dash

Did you ever figure out what was wrong? My 2016 Jeep Cherokee is doing the same exact thing. I push the button to start and it just blinks at me. Says there's an accessory open or whatever and then the check engine light and oil/battery light flash. I had AAA come out because I thought it was the battery but the battery is fine.

2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee code was for misfire 2 changed coil then code came back week later misfire 3 changed nothing and yesterday completely died. Ended up being the starter. Wire completely melted off and starter was roasted no thanks to NY weather.

Any other solutions for this specific "flashing engine light and silence when trying to start" issue? dash lights come on, and all other electronics seem to work as expected with the ignition in the "on" position. It seems like it's something other than a misfire or timing belt, etc, since the engine doesn't turn over, nor does the starter engage.
