1990 Lincoln Mark 7 Ignition Cylinder

First off my steering wheel is NOT locked &
it can turn, but when I turn the key to start
the car something is preventing the key
from fully engaging. Can anyone please
help me ASAP? I need my car for my job!

I have an 88 mark vii and when that happens I'm usually able to fix it by pressing the brake while turning the wheel and key until the key is able to turn all the way. Also make sure you're fully in park.
