Power seat 1990 town car problem

Asked by GuruPPQJM Jan 25, 2020 at 12:10 PM about the 1990 Lincoln Town Car Signature

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1990 Lincoln town car the power seat for drivers side goes forward. But it
does not go backward. So now only a scrawny thin person can squeeze in to
drive the car!! Manual shows there’s only one circuit breaker for the power
seats. So...??? Why can it go forward but not back? Does not make any noise
as if it’s trying but something’s blocking it. It just simply does not work, no
clicky sound or anything.

I had this problem on front passenger seat. My car is a 1994 Towncar. I bought a new seat switch and problem was solved. It may be able to remove the problem switch and clean up the terminals .I got my tested switch from ebay or you could email this person in Texas. rmdean00@yahoo.com. Anyway this is what I did.
