Where is Heater control valve is located?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Cant locate the heater control
valve.chilton no help on this. Need to
replace or fix as is stuck open.gets really
hot in there  ac runs fine.if i disconnect
the heater hoses and splice them
together bypassing heater coil.

Its usually on the passenger side fire wall or just in front of it between engine and/or just below the heater core hoses where the pass threw the firewall, it has the heater hose running to it.

Not on this one.chilton shows a typical ford old school valve.this had a t shaped plastic valve with a 3 prong plug in wire connection interior controls have heat ac and auto setting

Temperature blend door is stuck, either mechanically or the actuator, have the codes read by someone who can read B C and U codes. Generic scan tool can't do this! The door is inside the plenum under the dash, NO VALVE!!

It is a 97lincoln . Have heard that before.but not on 98and up when i check pt houses including ford all say it has 1 but they ,including frd mecs ,have no ides where the damn thing is.all say diff positions or and here at least they arnt lieing that they dont know.I really appreciate your help!! part of a manul says is deigned to fail in heat position for defrost Also thatvslve is on at all times except MAX AC any help would bs a god send.we travel from south desert to fl tonew england helping out our family and vplunteer work on churchs abuse shelters teh train for teens schooling etc. I am not smart enogh to teach most of this but i do the work for free and do a lot of the fund raising.all travel at my cozt and NO i do not ask for donations for my costs This is why sites like this ate so important to me and all those i csn help. If you can give me any more advise on car it will mean a lot.THANKS AGAIN 63315

when in doubt i took mine out and put in a valve 1/2 in metal no plastic crap soldered two small pieces of 1/2 in copper pipe ,the only draw back you have to pop the hood to bypass the heater core by shutting off the valve by hand. For air . and when you want heat you open the flow valve again. This lasts forever.
