Motor skipping

Hi Bill, in the Old days before the Control Modules (CPU), we used loosen up all the ignition wires at the spark plug end, barely touching, start up the car and remove one plug wire at a time, if it the motor shook more the wire was good, if it didn't make any difference then You had a defective wire, etc. We also park the car in a dark area (night time) open the hood and see if anything was sparking /arcing. then the cable were shorting to the chassis causing a skip. PS, don't grab those wires bare handed. Good Luck !
