Engine knocking

Asked by GuruXSVQ5 Oct 26, 2018 at 07:06 PM about the 2002 Lincoln Town Car Cartier

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My engine starting knocking after having the oil changed. This was the 1st
time that I agreed to using synthetic oil so I don’t know if this is the cause of
the knocking or another issue. Please provide suggestions on fixing this
problem. Thanks

Synthetic oil should not cause knocking. Did you check to see if the oil is at the proper level on the dipstick? How many miles are on this vehicle? What grade of synthetic oil did you use?

Agreed. Don't blame the oil but do check to see if there is any in the engine.
