2002 Lincoln Town Car Cartier L

Asked by kaz Nov 23, 2007 at 12:27 PM about the 2002 Lincoln Town Car Cartier L

Question type: General

Why is the 2002 Lincoln Town Car Cartier L almost 1200 pounds heavier than the 2002 Lincoln Town Car Cartier.  I know that the Cartier L is 6" longer, but 1200 pounds difference seems like it must be made of thicker steel or something?  Does anyone  know ?  Thanks.

Most likely due to extra length of body as well as extra bracing to support the stretched body on the regular Town Car frame.

In addition to the extra length you get added features. The L version gets rear A/C and radio controls, which MAY include tuner & compressor units separate from the front seat occupants. If not separate units, at least lots of additional ducting and an A/C mixer assembly.
