200 Lincoln Town Car Cartier has a clicking noise

the clicking noise makes me think it is the compass setting the display of the
direction the car is traveling.   the sound is just a little softer than the similar
sound as the turn signals......Help please!!!!

I had a similar problem/sound recently and it was the blinker unit. Shorted out. It was actually sparking. My mechanic eplaced the unit
