This is one of those yes and no type of questions. Yes if the road has some slopes and angles, No if it is fairly flat. A quick test is to turn off the system using the switch in the trunk, measure the wheel opening distance from the ground, then and let it sit over the weekend without messing with it, before driving it on the first work morning measure the distance from the ground if it has dropped then you have a leak in the system somewhere, turn the switch back on before driving. Lincolns are known to develop air suspension bag leaks over time, so be prepared.

When the " rum runners " on my 2002 buick were worn out I went with new stock shocks , There was some kind of problem with the system and it kept topping them off till they were stiff as a board and wouldn't purge the air . I got a conversion coil over and replaced them . $300** worth of scrap metal in both hands . You'll have to order those because they will not be in stock at auto zoo , O'reallys , nipa or any other store . FYI
When increasing the load of the vehicle by filling the gas tank, adding passengers or luggage the system will run a minute or two then cycle once or twice while driving the first few miles. After that it shouldn't cycle on unless maybe you're climbing an incline or something like that. What you're describing sounds like a slow leak in the system. Jim
