Alternator

Purchased alternator for 2005Towncar
Signature,  pn DL3413-16-1. (130 amp.)The
plug configuration is different. Facing
engine, old alternator has white somewhat
round style female plug while replacement
has this white receptacle plug on left and
more oblong shaped.  Have checked on p. n.  
of replacement with several stores and this
one is shown as replacement for 2005
towncar signature as well as for several
other years.  No traceable pn on old one.
Don't know what to do at this point .Pls help.
