For the symptom you describe, you should expect to find a problem with either the passenger side temperature blend door in the air distribution chamber behind the dash, or with the electronic actuator that moves the door. This is a 5 volt system. It is easiest to remove the blend door actuator and examine it and the blend door itself. Here is the procedure to remove the actuator Temperature Blend Door Actuator - RH Removal and Installation 1. Disconnect the glove compartment door damper cable. 2. Release the stops and lower the glove compartment. 3. Remove the heater core tube cover screw. graphic 4. Remove the RH temperature blend door actuator. 1 Remove the 3 temperature blend door actuator screws. graphic 2 Disconnect the temperature blend door actuator electrical connector. 3 Remove the RH temperature blend door actuator. 5. To install, reverse the removal procedure. With the actuator not attached to the air distrubution chamber, you can use the control panel to change the temperature from hot to cold and back and watch to see if the actuator is turning. You can also use a suitable screwdriver to fit into the part of the blend door that the actuator plugs onto to turn it and feel if the door is broken or binding. If the actuator does not turn, we can chase down an electrical issue. If the blend door feels like it is broken, or binding, The dashboard and air distribution chamber will need to be removed for repair.
