What kind of detention wire does a 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis have is it electric or what.

car hesitates at take off like the detention wire needs adjusting but don't know if its
electrical or what

That car has a 5.0L SPFI Single Port Throttle Body Fuel injection with mechanical linkage. Electronic Drive-By-wire throttle was not until much later 2005 ---if that's what you mean by detention wire....?
