How to make a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis GS drivers seat go forward or backward?

Asked by Dennis Feb 07, 2018 at 04:08 PM about the 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis GS

Question type: General

I cannot figure out how to make the driver's seat go forward or backward.  The
foot pedals have an adjustment that allows them to go forward and backward,
but I'd rather adjust my seat.

The seat switches are likely on the door.

Hey guys, I feel like an idiot!!! cjsras is completely right, I should know how to move my seats, but I forgot about the switches on the door and I appreciate Bob's and Js08016's kind responses! I've just been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and I think that may have something to do with it (at least it's a good excuse :-) ).. Thank you very much for sending me in the right direction.

You are welcome. I have a 2004 Mercury Marauder and that is where my switches are. The door panel seems like a strange place for the seat switches, but actually they are very handy there.

Hey Bob! Yes, you are correct when you say the door panel is a strange place for seat switches because every car that I've been in always has them on the side of the seat, but I went out to my car after seeing your response and sure enough they were right there on the door panel and they are very handy there too! I really appreciate you helping me out with that puzzle. I was bashing my head trying to figure that one out! HA! HA! You take care and have a great day Bob! :-)
