the air intake temp sensor (air charge) measures the density of the incoming air....especially useful when it's cold for cold starts~ replaces, the heat pipe above the exhaust manifold, the stove kit, diverter, heat riser and thermal choke, butterfly valve and two station high-idle detent on the carburetor....all this in one tidy little sensor...installed on the intake plenum~

Did you disconnect any vacuum lines during the swap? Are all vacuum lines connected correctly? A vacuum leak can cause a high idle.
