coolant leak?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have recently replaced the water pump,
thermostat, resovoir bottle and coolant on
my 99 grand am. My problem is that im
getting the heat on and off and losing
coolant. Today i noticed coolant spitting
out of the left side of my exhaust manifold.
Theres no bolt there holding that side which
i found weird anyways. So mu question is,
is it a bad head gasket or manifold gasket.
It also sputters while idle and also i can
hear a hissing noise coming from around
the carb. This all started about two weeks
ago and about a week ago i was driving to
work and the car overheated that is when i
started replacing everything. Also i checked
the sparkplug above the area where its
leaking and the plug is now at .058
thousandths or something like that and it
was black. please help!!

my grandpa has a shop and when my coolant was leaking guess what he to me to use PEPPER!!! lol yes pepper put about three table spoons then fill with coolant or if u dont have that ... distilled water ... as the water moves the pepper around the pepper clogs any hole(s) u have in the tubes and boom!! problem solved ... works like charm for me and i have a 2001 grand am se pontiac

My car doing the same things i change sensor plug and. 2 times already thermostat water pump and my car still leaking antifreeze please help
