of course a 195 degree T-stat...NEW should Not give any un- needed restriction...but as an experiment, you could run without that...the engine would not come up to operating temperature (that's why the t-stat)~ often the vanes on the waterpump get chewed away by corrosion, but if there is good flow...that would not be a problem~ with a handheld lazer thermometer you can measure where the hot spots are on the radiator~
Try other cooling components like the thermostat and cooling fans. Of course, this assumes you properly filled and bled the cooling system when you replaced the hose, water pump and radiator.
Yeah I bled them properly and I was thinking the thermostat as well but wasn't sure. Thanks guys, I will let you guys know what I come up with. Very helpful, thanks a million.
ooo, did you check when the electric cooling fan(s) come on? or then do NOT come on? https://www.google.com/? gws_rd=ssl#q=2000+grand+am+electric+cooling+fan
Yeah they come on when the engine temp gets about 3/4 of the way I believe.
