My heater in my 2000 pontiac seems to work sometimes and othertimes not at all, i cant figure out what the problem is?

By "work" do you mean the blower cycles or the air coming is hot and cold? If it's the blower motor, you have short brushes. It's easy to replace. Go to GAOwnersClub.com for DIY instructions with pictures. If it's hot and cold, it could be a worn water pump not pushing enough coolant at idle. Thanks for the best answer click.
