It only clicks, I get starters tested and they fail every time
I feel you... when I first got mine this happened... have the starter system checked out... and I hope you have lifetime warranty on your starter... also... if you haven't look at grandamgt.com or gaownersclub.com... search the repair forums... they are grand am owners only and they have INVALUABLE information... they got me through my first year with my car... everything from repair to modding it out... if you can't find it in the search, join for free and ask your question, but I bet you'll find ANY answer you want there...

i would think your ground cable make sure you have a good cable and that the engine is grounded
Ok thank you, it seems that something is sending power to my starter constantly causing it to die fail what ever you want to call it, it's stoping it from working I used my voltage tester on the battery and unplugged everything but my battery is still putting out power from something the only thing I have left is the ignition switch could that be the cause of it ? How and why?

Check the wires going to the starter and the starter it could be shorted
