Where is the photo sensor located on a 2001 Pontiac Grand AM GT V6?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I posted the question about cluster lights not lighting up in the daytime. Mechanic and GM said that was never a function. The GM people told the dealer's mechanic to cover the photo sensor and I want to know where that lives.

The dash is now lit up.

My question:  does anyone owning or knowing my subject car know whether those lights lit up in the daytime?

If I'm losing it or going "blind" I would not be having this issue.  In the gray skies of the Midwest I can barely see the speedometer when trees are overhead on country roads.

Thanks.

Nothing on the dash of this car. Nothing in the Owner's Manual either. Thanks for answering.
