Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have had an oil leak on my car for about three months now.  It doesn't seem to leak a
ton of oil on the ground but under the hood its tossed all around the engine.  We just
cleaned the engine yesterday so we can try finding the leak but I had someone look at it
and said he was surprised how the oil is on the top of the engine but thinks it's coming
from down below near the crankshaft pulley.  I was just curious if there is a common leak
area for these pontiac grand am's and if anyone was aware if so?  Thank you.

Thank you very much! We have determined it most likely isn't the valve cover gaskets as they are clean but unfortunately we are thinking the crankshaft seal.
