thumping sound when driving, and cooling fans wont turn on

When driving my 2.4  grand am theres a thumping sound
coming from the front or back right tires i dont know which
one but the thumping sound comes and goes,  and the
cooling fans will turn on if the ac is on and my papa and i
connected them to the battery and they clicked on and took  
it to auto zone and they just took out the relays and
switched them and they still didnt run if any one could help
thatd be great thanks!!!

The fans will come on when the AC is on. It is designed that way. If they don't come on at any other time, I would first make sure your engine is getting hot enough to turn them on. Have you had any overheating issues that would indicate they are failing or does your temp stay in the normal range when you drive? I don't know about the thump you describe but you may want to inspect your tires on that side and look for distortions in the tread or bubbles on the sidewalls.
