When pumping gas, car has a hard time taking
fuel. Kicks the handle off. Any ideas? I know
my gas gauge does not work properly.

EVAP system has a problem. Might just be the vent line in the tank. Pressure is building when pumping gas in and is kicking off the gas pump handle. Check if you have any stored diagnostic trouble codes. Google your vehicle's EVAP system diagram so you know what you're looking at. You will have a vent solenoid, purge solenoid, vent and return line, an EVAP canister and charcoal filter. Sometimes the charcoal filter becomes saturated in gas when people try to squeeze more gas in the tank after the pump handles initial shut off. But in your case, it sounds like you have a vent problem.
