2003 Pontiac Grand Am loses acceleration and dies; Trac Off, Oil Pressure and Battery Lights

Asked by Northern75 Jan 18, 2014 at 08:55 PM about the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2003 Pontiac Grand Am had the Trac Off light come one while driving over some slush and ice on the highway.  I could feel the loss of traction.  Shortly after the Oil Pressure and Battery lights came on and then the car lost acceleration so I had to pull it over to the shoulder and then get a tow home.  Since then I have tried to re-start multiple times, but each time after the initial display of warning lights come on with the key turned to start, these three warning lights then remain on and the engine won't turn over. Not sure if it is the alternator, fuel pump or something more serious?

Is there any way you can get under it and try to roll the engine over by the crankshaft bolt?

Yes I would say that the oil pump went out.
