Pontiac Grand Am Brake Lights and Cruise Control

Asked by texas_angel Jul 10, 2014 at 10:10 PM about the 2005 Pontiac Grand Am SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am. Last week I went to get the oil change and two front tires replaced, and an alignment. Since then, cruise control hasn't worked. Yesterday my brake lights both decided to stop working. (Not sure that it's related to the cruise control or anything.) It's not the fuse nor the lights. They are fine. So what could it possibly be? The brake light switch?

check your owners manual. there may be more than one fuse for the lights. you have 3 fuse boxes in that car. one on the left of the dash one on the passenger side and one underneath the hood. and re check your light bulbs. they could be bad. and as far as the cruise control goes there are several fuses for that also. worst case scenario is replacing the cruise control unit which is under your steering wheel. fun fun. owners manual will list where the fuses are for all of those things.
