04 Grand Am starter
I have just got done installing a new starter/
celinoid on our 2004 Pontiac Grand am and I
should have taken a photo of the wires and posts
while they were on the old one but I didn't and I am
not sure where the large wire goes. It has a metal
angle I clip on it. The other large post has a nut
,washer, self locking type. It was easy to see where
the small wire attaches to the coil but I'm not sure
on the two posts where the large wire attaches. I
am hoping I can see a very good drawing or photo
of the ass and where they connect. The starter had
no Tech drawings showing, just a list of steps for
trouble shooting.
I don't know if this will help much, the description is lacking, but at least it has a view of the bat cables; Description reads: Install the electrical connection to the battery terminal on the solenoid. Tighten the battery terminal nut to 17 N·m (13 lb ft). Install the electrical connections to the S terminal on the solenoid. Tighten solenoid S terminal nut to 3 N·m (27 lb in). Install the flywheel inspection cover. Install the flywheel inspection cover bolts. Tighten the flywheel inspection cover bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in). Lower vehicle. Connect the negative battery cable.
I just installed a starter on2004 Grand am there are 3 wries. One goes to stater the other to the oil sencer I don't know where the other one goes? I'm sure it goes to another sencer but can't find it.
