did you check this by yourself? you need two people to do it right. the fuel pump will only have power for about 5 seconds when you turn the key on. have your test light or meter on the purple wire near the fuel pump , have somebody turn the key on , do not crank it . if the test light comes on & then go off you have power to the pump. you only get contant power if the car is running.
Just to clarify: The fuel pump runs only until it reads minimum pressure in the fuel line. A bad fuel pressure regulator can shut the power to the pump. Disconnect the fuel line at the engine and attach a rubber gas-rated hose and clamp to the line running back to the tank. Use an air compressor to blow any gas in the line back into the tank, then put the hose end into a bottle or can. Have a friend turn the key to the on position while you check for voltage at the pump. If the pump is now running, you know its the fuel pressure regulator that's bad. If it's not running, you more than likely have a break in the hot wire. Have you tried running a temporary hot lead to the pump?
clarify what? the fuel pump doesn't read anything for one , the pressure regulator is mechanical not electric it regulates pressure to the injectors it can't possibley shut power to the pump.its impossible. fuel pump comes on there should be 40 psi on start up once the car is running it drops down to about 20-25psi somewhere around there.
Check the fuel pump fuse. The relay closes when the ignition is on but if the fuel pump fuse is blown, no power goes to the pump.
