Where is the temp sensor in a '94 Grand Prix 3.1 L engine and at what temp does it turn on the fan?

Question type: General
The passenger side radiator cooling fan does not turn on until the estimated temp reaches 225 to 230 degrees. I find this to be a bit hot. These temps are when the car is idling as in traffic jams.

Thats when that particular fan is supposed to come on but Im not 100% sure where the actual temp sensor is... Let me look that up
i had the same problem with my 91 and could not track down the problem what i did was wired the fan directly to the ignition yes it is always on but i will not damage my engine
jump an 30k ohms resistor (anything above 1/4 watt is fine) between the sensor wire, this will fool the computer and think is hotter than what it really is. Warning: the "check gauges" light might come on, but the fans will start running at about 120°F. If you live in the south, this is good.
