How long will this prix last?

I'm looking at a '96 prix on craigslist, listed for $2000 or best offer. It's in overall nice condition but I'm worried about the engine. It's a 3.1L V6 and it has 244k miles. Would this car even last me a year? How much could I talk him down to? Only repairs it needs are new tires at the moment.

With the mile,s that are on it,it,s a 1200,dollar car especialy if it need,s tire,s.It may run good,for a little bit,but look forward to investing money in to it.
