I have a 1998 Grand Prix GTP that will start but will only stay running for 5-10 seconds. I've tried a few different things but can't figure out why it won't stay running.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've had the fuel filter and fuel pump
changed, I've also replaced the fuel
pump relay and the idle control
sensor.  Also there had been two
different times that it's stayed running
but once  it's turned off it goes back to
only running a few seconds.

Check the fuel lines and make sure it is not kinked somewhere.

Also check the fuel pressure. The fuel pressure regulator could be at fault.

The security system will also shut the car down after a few second if you're using a key that has somehow been deprogrammed. When it started and ran, were you by chance using a different key?
