How do you separate the engine from the transmission and does the engine come out from the top or the bottom

Engine comes out from the top. First thing to do is remove the hood, disconnect battery, drain cooling system and remove hoses, disconnect engine harness and carefully lay out of the way, disconnect exhaust system from the manifolds, remove bolts for upper and lower motor mounts,remove flywheel cover, remove bolts to flywheel (from under car) remove bell housing bolts that mount engine to trans, hook chain to front and rear of engine,(lifting hooks are usually on engine from factory) lift with engine hoist, watch for things that may hang up and remove them properly.Don't cut anything Have Fun!
