My friend put a turbo conversion in his and it made it go faster. However, after some months, the engine began to show signs of wear and some oil leaks due to the stress of his "fooling around". The job was not easy and cost him money. Not to sound like "mom", but I would keep the car the way it is, in mint condition with his low miles and, if I want to go a bit faster, I'd just step on the gas pedal a bit harder.

I agree. If you want a performance car, buy a performance car. The days of "fooling around" with your car to make it faster are gone unless you want to spend thousands of dollars doing it. Everything affects everything else, usually in a bad way.

Remove the wheels and put a new car on them :) It's not the answer you are looking for but the car wasn't designed to be a 'go-fast' car.
