Asked by David Dec 31, 2015 at 10:48 AM about the 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix 4 Dr GTP Supercharged Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How was the compression ratio dropped when the
supercharger was added to the 3800 was it the
pistons or the heads

Head gaskets may be different but it is the pistons that lower the compression ratio. Here is a read for you --- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_V6_engine#L67_Supercharged_2
