my '99 Grand Prix has the 3100 motor, can i replace it with the 3800 with supercharger or the regular 3800 and would that still be smog legal.

i live in California, and i know they have the  i live in California, and i know they have the strictest rules for air pollution (or what ever u call it).  the 3100 has about 157xxx miles on it.

Sell it and buy a GTP. They're inexpensive, still relatively plentiful and come with the supercharged engine already installed by the factory, as well as the proper fuel system, transmission, electronics etc. etc. And as an added bonus it will be Calif. compliant. Building your own is just not worth the trouble.
