spark plugs
What brand, kind of spark plugs do you guys use? I have had very good luck with double platinum and the iradium plugs. The Gtp has 134,000 on it now , and still runs great with 26 mpg on the highway and 19 mpg around here (very hilly country roads). I'm interested what works for everybody else.

General consensus is to use a single electrode, platinum or iridium plug on those GM V6 engines. It has six plugs with three coils so the plugs are sparking twice a cycle. The cheap and multi electrode plugs don't hold up and cause mis-fires.
Tenspeed, I was looking for a brand name, I've owned this car since it was new. I've tried Nippondenso, autolite, and of course AC . Now its getting close to it's next plug change. I am curious what the rest of the owners of these fine cars use.
I've used Bosch and NGK plugs for years with good results. Some guys swear by AC Delcos. It comes down to personal preference, opinion and experience. Check in at GAOwnersClub.com - Grand Am's use the same engines and there is a lot of info there.
i've done good with AC/Delco rapidfires in the past.. my 2002 camaro used Iridium. 28-19 mpg

I am looking at gettting Iridium plugs and a 14-15MM Wires for them. But I need to research how far out/in they need to go. I will post once I get it done to let you know. I already have a K&N filter on it. Runs alright although my gas mileage is every 4-5 days fillup.
Hello I have an 2004 Pontiac Grand am gt and bought iridium IX plug 7164 the auto store said these are vehicle specific so do I just install these straight as is or should I gap them with the special iridium gapper or would this be just fine to install
