Wow, tearing apart a perfectly good engine is never a good idea. Sorry, no offense. But now you have opened a can of worms that who knows what went wrong during re-assembly. Vacuum leaks, spark plug wires could be crossed, fuel delivery, What you need now to start is an OBDII scan to point you in the right direction.

It's called "Snatching defeat from the Jaws of victory" ... Don't worry because that's cured with age. ~~~~ Go with the easiest fix first .. spark plug wires (make sure you re tightened them too), then .. vacuum leaks Get a spray bottle of water and spray it around the intake manifold.) EGR valve can be a rear bear once disturbed. Good luck and remember that even bad experience can be good experience
