Car won't start

So, I have a 2001 grand prix gt and I can turn the
key forwards but it won't start. It doesn't even click
or anything. But I can't turn the key backwards at
all. Can someone help me out?

do lights come on. check battery and cables first make sure you have power and a good connection. from there see if there some kind of security light on. if not. starter could be bad.

Nothing comes on. No lights, no dings when the doors open. It like doesn't even try. I'm gonna have to recheck the cables tomorrow and let you know

Having problem starting my 2002 pontiac grand prix and I checked all the fuses and changed the starter an still no cranking but it's engaging though
