I own a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. I am having issues with it overheating.

Asked by Jordan Jul 23, 2015 at 12:53 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT1

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have changed the thermostat, water
pump, and temp sensor as well as
flush the system over half a dozen
times. It doesn't leak, but the over
flow fills and let's off fluid. Any help
would be greatly appreciated

Are you filling the over fill tank all the way up ? If so do this fill over tank to fill mark and leave the cap off let engine idle until it reaches normal operating temperature the fluid in tank will fill up a little that is way you have to leave a little room in the over flow tank for this to happen once the thermostat opens the fluid in the over flow tank will drop almost to nothing in the over flow tank that is when you add more anti freeze to tank to fill level then put cap back on. That is how you get air out of the cooling system.
