pontiac overheated now wont start
I have a 2004 grand prix.
I was driving my car and noticed my engine temp
was running hot car read shutting down ac to
protect engine and it started smoking. my friend
went to get my car drove it home to his house
about 6 miles he said it did fine
next day he tried to bring it to my house which is
about 10 miles and 90% of the way here it died. I
had the tow truck pick it up and bring it home. we
replaced the waterpump, filled it back with
antifreeze and car still continued to overheat so we
replaced the thermostat. sounded like there was
air in the cooling system and antifreeze was
bubbling and shooting out the overflow so we tried
to bleed out the air using bleeder screw.. car coled
down a little tiny bit then got hot again so shut off
car. once cooled we put water through the radiator
and restarted the car letting it run trying to filter it
through hoping to get out the air bubbles. it again
cooled down bit then got hot again car was
chugging at idle we drove it one block and back
parked could hear noise by tail pipes like they were
shaking and sputtering sounded loud. frustrated
we turned off the car and called it a day.. next day
went out and tried to start the car and it wont turn
over. lights come on, makes a slight noise when
attempt to not a clicking noise or a chugging noise
like it's attempting to turn over.
it's in the shop and they can't find anything wrong.
if this helps my abs light has been on for awhile.
