2004 Pontiac Grand Prix ABS & Traction Control

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix ABS & Traction Control
light comes on frequently. In addition, I hear and
feel a hydrolic-type feel/sound when turning. I took
it to two different mechanics. One states that I need
to replace all four Oxygen Sensors ($250). The other
states that I need to replace the ABS/Traction
control module ($1200). In fact, the second
mechanic states that my car doesn't even require
four Oxygen Sensors, but two (upstream &
downstream). I'm not mechanically inclined, at all.
Please help!!!

Good advice from Js. Also could be a bad wheel bearing. I've had that happen several times on various cars. Apparently there's enough play in a worn wheel bearing to disable the ABS and cause the system to attempt to reset itself which is the pulsing sound/feel you are getting when you turn sharply and at a low speed. If you're changing the bearing insist that it be a good quality American brand like SKF. It's more money, but if you buy the cheap ones you will likely be doing it again in about a year. Again I speak from experience.
Mine has the ABS system needing to be replaced, and my TCS and ABS lights are ON. Its your ABS System
If you replace two front wheel hubs with thier sensors, then do you need to do any programming?
No. The computer will detect the new parts and figure it all out.
