How does drain hose from sunroof terminate on passenger side front

Asked by nachoterry Jun 19, 2016 at 05:55 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

when checking out water stains around sunroof and funky smell in car I
discovered that the driver side drain house works, passenger front side
appears to clog up where hose ends dangling in bottom. If I remove that
hose from bottom of A -pillar it drains fine into a cup. Is that hose supposed
to be connected to a fitting ( drain ) or does it just dangle freely and drain
out of the bottom of the A pillar somehow. Not sure what is plugging it up
but cleaned a bunch of debri from the area, leaves, etc and no help.

I use compressed air to blow out the drain tubes, starting right at the roof opening try and locate the tubes on each side, and most have rear drains too. I use a long section 12" of brake line for locating the tube opening and send compressed air through it... on the '04 GTP I'm not sure where they end but, many are routed to the bottom of the fender near the front edge of the door.. they should be free flowing from the sunroof.
