Problem with Pontiac Grand Prix revving but not moving properly..

Asked by Carri Oct 13, 2019 at 11:03 PM about the 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix. Bought it used
and had no problems up until a few nights ago.
I was backing out of my driveway, put it in park to
shut the gate, then put the car in reverse and it
revved but didn't move. I then put the car in drive to
see if that made any difference, and the same
thing happened.. revved but didn't move..
I then turn off and started back up and I was able
to move normally.
I drove maybe 15/20 miles and while going down
the highway, the car would not accelerate when I
pressed the gas pedal. Again, It would rev, but
wouldn't go. It seems like if I put the car in park, kill
it and restart, it stops for a minute, but has
continued to act up, regardless of how fast or slow
I'm going.
I have checked my trans. fluid, had oil changed.
Obd says codes P0332, P0480. I'm not a car
person at all and have no idea what or if that has
anything to do with my issue.
Greatly appreciate any advice.

Sounds like a transmission problem of some sort. Might be minor, but don't count on it. Best to take it to a transmission shop for an evaluation.
