What is a spigot on 3800 motor?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Have coolant leaking somewhere, can't see where it is coming from. Might be the tensioner elbow. Have a friend with a 2004 Grand Prix with same problem. He had it repaired, was told it was the spigot, located at back of motor.

It's most likely the heater hose elbows. They are made of brittle plastic and crack easily on the 3.8L engine. Replace them with aluminum ones, so it doesn't happen again. Dorman part # 47065HP.
You will need to drain the cooling system and remove the tensioner bracket to replace them. Make sure you bleed the air out of the cooling system from the bleed valve on top of the thermostat housing after you refill it with antifreeze.
