Fuel system

Asked by David May 20, 2017 at 06:24 PM about the 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was wanting to know what
the pressure should be in the
Fuel Rail? I don't think the fuel
injectors are atomizing the
gas do to lack of psi... After I
put the key in th ON posistion,
i went back under the hood of
the car and pushed on the
Shrader valve....The gas
came out like an old water
fountain... Any thoughts on
what to do?

Fuel pressure for this engine should be 56-62 psi. If you have a lot less you should check the fuel filter, fuel regulator and fuel pump for signs of failure. I hope this helps.
