I'm going to assume you've made sure the oil is topped up. After that its likely a faulty sending unit which will likely need to be replaced to make the light go out. That's probably a job for a repair shop unless you're a very patient do it yourselfer. It's likely located in some nearly inaccessible place on your engine.

I have taken my car to the shop to have the sensor check for my oil pressure gauge as it stays on when I start the car. Yes have oil in it. The mechanic told me I could go ahead and drive it this way. Need to know what I can check as I don't believe this is fixed after paying a large sum to have it fixed.

What does it say when you scan it for trouble codes?

Well they should have. Call and ask them for that info. You paid for it. In any event its easy enough to have it scanned and fine out for yourself.
