Electrical issue

Asked by Riserblue Jan 20, 2020 at 02:41 PM about the 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6 Base Minivan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Starting issue which seems to be electrical. Van
sometimes requires a boost but fires up right away.
I thought it might be battery but under load battery
is good. The radio and heater will sometimes stop
working but then will come back on a few minutes
later
What should I possibly be looking for as far as an
electrical issue?

You can use digital multimeter leads across battery posts, have helper turn key to crank, the reading shouldn't drop below 9.6 volts, that is a generic spec. It depends on the issue? If your saying it cranks good but won't, check, spark at the plugs--proper fuel pressure--fuel injector pulse--any applicable trouble codes? Now, if your saying t he starter motor won't even crank the engine, that is different issue, have to check starter motor wiring circuits.
