98 Subaru Forester rear wiper wiring is messed up. Can someone Help me?

Asked by Taurean25045 Jan 14, 2016 at 03:10 PM about the 1998 Subaru Forester Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My friend who changed my 98 Subaru Forester taillight casing on the
passenger side unhooked all the wires behind the panel, he did the
replacement and hooked everything back up, now my rear wiper doesnt work,
but the fluid does. I dont know what was hooked up wrong and i have no idea
where to start to fix it. Please help.

Make sure all the wires are hooked up properly. Use a volt meter and check each wire while someone pushes the washer button. First check the fuse!

There's a plug that goes directly into the motor wire mounted on the motor/drive assembly. He/she forgot to plug it back in. It's completely separate from the washer system, FoR. Also, if the FRONT wipers work it's not the "common" fuse, of course.
