Question type: General
I want to buy new wheels for my 96 corvette and I keep getting asked this question? Are the front and rear wheels the same width size? Can someone tell me if they are both 17 x 9.5 or are the front 17 x 8.5 and the rear 17 x 9.5.

no the front wheels are a little more narrow. (as far as I have seen). If you can, I would take the car to a tire so they can see what the proper sizes are.

The Tire Rack web site - www.tirerack.com - has an awesome tool that will tell you original tire sizes as well as other options that will fit your car without mods. Hope that helps!

I own a 1996 LT4 Corvette CE, and I also wanted to purchase new wheels for my vette. I actually cracked one of my rear rims, and it forced me to purchase new rims. I went with Factory Reproductions out of California for fronts at 17 x 9.5 (54 mm) and rears at 17 x 11 (50 mm). They are so freaking wide.. I also purchase new BF Goodrich TA G Force P275/40ZR-17 for the fronts and P315/35ZR-17's for the rear. Freak'n freak freak..!! I am very happy with my purchases. The CE comes stock with 17 x 8.5 fronts and 17 x 9.5 rears rims, and the wider look is what this car needed to put it over the top. It's freak'n hot.
Hi, I have a 96 Corvette and all the wheels are the same size 17 X 9.5 front and back. I put the C-6 reproduction wheels on mine and they look great.
