What does this one toggle switch do?

Asked by Edward Aug 30, 2020 at 02:20 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible RWD

Question type: General

There is a small toggle switch on my 95 convertible. It it to the right of the
steering column, is shines chrome, sits low on the dashboard all alone, nothing
else around it. What is this switch for? What does it control? No one seems to
know it’s purpose and it is not in the owners manual. It has to serve a purpose,
what is that???

The switch is not after-market. There is a whole web of people making up answers like It is an ejector seat switch for the passenger seat, opens a space portal, etc. so it is on multiple cars. Just no one knows what it is for. I will try asking another expert, maybe he knows. Thanks any way!

I own a 95' C-4 and there is no switch on the carpeted lower dash. My guess is someone had a cooling fan switch added, with the AC off the radiator fans don't engage until 230 degrees, which scares a lot of owners, but it's normal for this car. If you haven't tried, turn ignition to ON and flip the switch and listen for the fans.
